Diabetic Foot

Is a challenging and complex surgical topic. Dr O’Sullivan looks after the diabetic foot both in the Public and Private sectors and this requires a team effort with a combination of surgeons, podiatrists, orthotists and rehabilitation physicians. Diabetic feet can involve debridement of ulcers, excision of osteomyelitis, correction of deformity or amputation. Often diabetic foot conditions take many years of treatment to overcome and require constant vigilance for skin breakdown and collapse of joints secondary to Charcot arthroplasty.
